Introduction to the Semiconductor Industry

Through this half-day non-technical introductory course, participants gain an understanding of the semiconductor industry. The companies that manufacture chips, those that provide manufacturing equipment and its components as well as materials suppliers are discussed. Participants learn how the various semiconductor companies are interrelated and how they provide the key components to the electronics industry. The IC manufacturing process is covered along with the support technologies of contamination control, mask making and wafer manufacturing. Test and assembly is also presented.

The course is presented in-house. The fee is $3,000 for up to 15 participants and $200 each for each additional participant plus instructor travel and lodging expenses if applicable. Call for quote for smaller groups.
